CHANGE IN PRESSURE

three months into university and I've learned that if you're even slightly dressed up, everyone will be looking at you as if you've grown three heads. thanks to peer pressure and judgemental stares, I've been forced to incorporate typical student OOTDs (such as jeans + t-shirt + tears) into my wardrobe but I'll jump on any chance I get to actually put a bit of effort into my appearance.

  7. Love this outfit, that skirt is beautiful!

And when I was at uni (finished last year) I had the same issue but actually after a little while people got used to the fact I didn't just wear typical jeans and tops! I always think I have a better day if I feel good in what I'm wearing so I always like to make a bit of an effort too :)

  9. I love this skirt, that must be so annoying having to dull down your looks. Try to not care what others think, here just jealous you look away better than them ;p

  15. Honestly, I feel the same exact way. It's as if you are forced to conform to the typical college student look. I feel the same, I'm a grad student and now, since I've started I barely dress up for school because of the endless homework but on occasion I do and when I do I get the same stares lol.

Anywho, lovely outfit. The jacket is very nice!

  21. The same happened to me while I was doing my BA. Don't give into the pressure, dress how YOU want to dress. I've always given in and now regret it a lot.

  27. Ugh. I hate that - my fellow classmates were the same when I was at uni but if anything it inspired me to continue putting some effort into my appearance. Haters can hate, but if I don't feel comfortable in what I'm wearing I'm not going to be myself. Not good when your trying to get a degree!
