Porto Travel Diary

this is the last blog post on my trip to Portugal, took me a while but now I've got them all up! our exploration of Portugal continued in Porto, the second-largest city of the country. we took a train to Porto from Lisbon and spent the next three days there. although the weather wasn't the best, we still got to enjoy the lovely city of Porto, its magic and the port wine

/ the view of the historical district of Porto - Ribeira - and the riverside from Ponte Luis I was indeed gorgeous. the bridge connects the city centre with Vila Nova de Gaia and its port wine caves

lovely spring flowers

/ spring was in full swing in Portugal and I was loving it

gorgeous patterned buildings

/ decorated with patterned tiles, most houses in the centre looked like this. so much beauty in one place even though a lot of the buildings were looking a bit run-down and sad

Casa da Música

/ a wonderful example of modern architecture in Porto, loved both the exterior and interior

/ we took a bus from the city and in under 30 minutes we were in Foz, the place where the Duoro river meets the Atlantic ocean. the view of waves crashing into the rocks was simply breathtaking

Praça da Liberdade

/ this square was a pretty central spot for us but this photo was taken during our last evening in Porto. what a gorgeous place even in the rain!

these pictures were taken on our first day in London when we were just aimlessly walking around Hammersmith. we stayed there for a couple of nights and it was such a nice area! I'm also looking for a job in London so if you've got anything - hit me up. LOL.

striped top Dresslink. hat H&M. trainers Nike Roshe Run. watch Michael Kors. bracelet Primark

I'm wearing my new top from Dresslink, such a good quality piece and perfect for the upcoming summer. love the stripes and the baggy fit, definitely looking forward to styling it for warmer weather!

Canary Wharf

hello from London! seems a bit surreal but I've relocated to London for the time being. I've dreamed of living in London ever since I was thirteen years old so this is all very exciting for me!

here are some photos from my visit to Canary Wharf - such an incredible location, loved exploring it. I went for a comfy and casual look that day, obviously wearing my Nike Roshe Run - still adore them.

Day Trip from Lisbon

while in Lisbon, we decided to go on a day trip and explore the surroundings of Lisbon. we started early in the morning with a visit to Sintra, later followed by Cabo da Roca and the seaside resort Cascais.

/ I was amazed by this lovely town and its beautiful buildings, located just an hour away from Lisbon. it is very touristy since a lot of people choose Sintra as their day trip destination but that didn't stop us from enjoying its magic

Palácio Nacional da Pena

/ Sintra is famous for its palaces and castles but we only went inside one of them - the Pena National Palace. I'm so glad I was able to see this picturesque beauty with my own eyes, the palace is indeed super beautiful

Cabo da Roca

/ we took a bus to the westernmost point of Europe from Sintra and it was an adventure of its own, driving uphill all the time. going to Cabo da Roca was an incredible experience and looking out to the Atlantic ocean definitely felt a bit surreal

/ after our visit to Cabo da Roca, we continued our journey to Cascais - a seaside resort and a very charming town. the sky was overcast by the time we got there so that was a bit of a downer but other than that Cascais proved to be a lovely place to explore. the city beaches like Praia da Rainha were beautiful even with the cloudy skies and they must be exceptional in the summer when the sun is brightly shining

Lisbon Travel Diary

it's been a bit more than a week since I came back from my trip to Portugal. it was my first time exploring the country and hopefully not the last. we started our journey in Lisbon and I completely fell in love with this charming city. there are more posts coming so stay tuned!

Praça Luís de Camões

/ we stayed in Bairro Alto, very close to Chiado and Baixa so the location was super central. and the view was amazing!

Elevador da Glória

/ there are 3 funiculars in Lisbon as the city is very hilly. included in the public transport day ticket, it's a fun but short ride

Praça do Comércio

/  located next to the Tagus river, it is one of the main squares in Lisbon.  I loved the open view, such a gorgeous place

Elevador da Bica

/ we went early in the morning and got the whole funicular to ourselves. it felt a bit surreal to be honest, going up and down the hill in an old, empty funicular while the street around us was practically empty

traditional facades in city centre

/ the architecture in Portugal is amazing, a lot of the houses are decorated with beautiful tiles and the patterns are super gorgeous

/ it's the oldest neighbourhood of Lisbon, very beautiful and charming. if you're in Lisbon, definitely ride one of the old trams, it's one of my highlights from the trip! I recommend the tram 28, it passes through most of the central districts and it's a super fun experience although a bit scary at times - the streets are very narrow and steep. you can get off the tram in Alfama and stop at Miradouro de Santa Luzia, one of the many viewpoints in the city

/ another district of Lisbon and a home to many Lisbon landmarks like Padrão dos Descobrimentos, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and Torre de Belém (see the last two photos). the Museu Colecção Berardo is also nearby, if you like modern and contemporary art it's worth visiting. and the best part - the entrance is free

Arm Candy

I never leave the house without putting on at least one piece of jewellery. there's something so polished and beautiful that comes with wearing jewellery and sometimes I feel like my love for gold jewellery is infinite.

featured in this post is this beautiful sterling silver bracelet with gold plated finish and Swarovski Zirconia by Italian brand Nomination. it's such a beautiful piece and I couldn't be happier with it. you can use the promo code BLOGGER20 to get 20% off your purchase on their online website here.

I've paired the bracelet with my trusty Michael Kors watch which I never seem to take off. I find it looks perfect with daintier jewellery like this bracelet.
